Scholarships:
The West Georgia NAASC has five need-based scholarship categories to assist students with unmet financial needs (e.g., gap in financial aid). Preference is first given to residents and students who live/attended high school in the West Georgia community and then to WGANAASC legacies who did not, and then to students recommended by Spelman College. Recipients authorize the West Georgia NAASC to use their photo and statements in publicity materials.
All scholarships are granted based on fund availability at the time of the request. Check back for announcements. The funds are collected annually through chapter dues, donations and fundraising activities.
All applicants must provide a copy of their most recent financial aid statement (students with full ride scholarships are not eligible to apply). All recipients must be enrolled full time at the time scholarship is disbursed.
Each application should include a list of achievements:
Please attach an unofficial copy of your current transcript which shows current GPA.
Please list up to five honors achieved within the past 5 years. Include:
Title of award
Grade level/Classification in which the award was received
Level of recognition (school, state, national, or international).
A list of Extra-Curricular Activities (School related activities outside of regular class schedule). If student held a leadership role in any activity, please note it next to the activity.
Please provide a list of Community Service Activities (Volunteer activities outside of extra-curricular/school related activities). If student held a leadership role, please note it next to the activity.
Please provide any Employment History (Paid positions as well as unpaid family enterprise). If you had a leadership role in any position, please note it next to the position.
*Leadership is designated as not only holding a “position of leadership” but showing active leadership/mentoring by example within a group or activity.
*A current resume may be uploaded.
