We're Supportive and Collaborative

The WGANAASC was chartered on May 18, 2019. We strive to connect Spelman sisters who have ties to the West Georgia Community and seek to enhance Spelman College’s presence and influence in the area:

  • West Cobb County

  • Douglas County

  • Paulding County

  • Polk County

  • Haralson County

  • Carroll County

  • Heard County

  • Coweta County

Meeting Times and Dates

The executive committee will meet every other month on the 1st Monday starting in November 2023.

Our general member meetings will be every other month, on the 3rd Wednesday at 7PM.  We will do hybrid meetings unless otherwise notified and will physically meet at The Embry Law Firm 12531 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Douglasville, GA 30134. Therefore our next meeting will be November 15th.

Our standing committees are aligned with our current chapter goals. Committees will meet the months we do not have general body meetings. The chairperson(s) will, along with committee members, decide the time/place etc.  The first committee meetings should take place in October 2023. Because our committees are fairly new, our E-board has agreed to chair until we can get members willing to take these positions on.

Chapter Focus and Goals 2024-2026

Our focus for FY25, is to increase membership, build the sisterhood through fellowship and support current students who are from our service area.

  • By the end of FY 25, the chapter will have increased our membership by 50%.

  • By the end of FY 25 (June 30, 2025), we will have hosted a minimum of 3 events for members and prospective members to increase our fellowship and build the sisterhood.

  • By June 2025, we will have provided support to current Spelman students by donating snacks and school supplies to Spelman’s Student Success Department in December(5-6) and May (1-2).
